About
the Conference
On
January 18, 2007, Homeland Defense Journal and the Wireless
Communications Association International (WCAI) -- will
host a one-day Homeland Defense Journal Training Conference®
entitled, “Emergency Communication and Notification
Solutions for Government and Business.”
Due to recent extreme emergencies such as Katrina, government
leaders have been reminded of the urgent need for emergency
communication and notification solutions. During a crisis
situation and to support continuity of critical government
functions, it is important to send emergency action messages
to thousands of email addresses, cell phones, BlackBerry’s
and other wireless devices quickly. The ability to communicate
during a catastrophic or man-made disaster is crucial to
save the lives of our citizens and restore critical public
and government functions.
The
goal of the "Emergency Communication and Notification
Solutions for Government and Business” is
to inform federal, DoD, state and local and business leaders
on current trends and directions in this important sector.
Government and commercial case studies will profile best
practices. Industry will report on this important sector,
trends, directions and emerging solutions – all geared
to assist government and commercial emergency response planners
as they prepare to define needs and requirements.
Attendees
at the one-day conference will also be invited to be the
guests of the Wireless Communications Association Conference
and attend selected sessions and the wireless expo held
at the same time. This will be a public-level series of
training presentations on the challenges ahead. Speakers
will represent federal agencies and leading security, equipment
and systems suppliers. The combined conference will draw
over 2,000 leading government and industry executives representing
mobile and wireless companies and agencies at all levels
of government.
